"A Night in Sickbay" [ENT]
His two daughters have followed in his
footsteps, one's a surgeon, and the other's a biochemist.
His eldest son is an artist, a potter,
actually and live in the same town as his mother.
His two younger sons and him have never seen
eye to eye and haven't spoken in quite some time.
His "extended" family (each wife having 3
husbands, etc.) has 31 children in it.
"A Night in Sickbay" [ENT]
Mettus, his youngest son, was seduced by
people who hate Antarans. Phlox did his best to convince
him he was mistaken and told
him he wouldn't tolerate the values he was embracing. It created
a rift
between them. So that
they haven't spoken for 10 years until 2153 when an encounter with an
Antaran
prompted Phlox to dictate a
letter to his son.
"The Breach" [ENT]
Grandmothers:
Phlox has at least five grandmothers, and had three
separate weddings.
"Doctor's Orders" [ENT]
One of his grandmothers lived through the last war
with the Antarans. When Phlox was quite young
he and some friends had planned to take a trip to a
nearby arboreal planet. It was a park of sorts with
a great variety of exotic animal life. But the
week before Phlox was supposed to leave his grandmother
took him aside and told him he couldn't go.
She said the planet was tainted -- that Antarans had lived
there once. Even though they'd been gone for
years, she believed the place had been spoiled by their
presence. She would tell Phlox stories about
the Antarans that would give him nightmares. He never
told these stories to his children, so that now, all
his children except Mettus, consider his
grandmother's attitude as
archaic. "The Breach" [ENT]
