are enemies to be feared and reviled.

prior to the mid-19th century:
The Denobulans had fought several bitter wars with
the Antarans . The conflicts resulted in the
loss of 20 million Antaran lives.

ca 1853: The last war was fought between the Antarans and
the Denobulans. There will be no contact
between the two races again until 2153.

Phlox treated Hudak, a wounded Antaran. Even after many years
of no contact, much hostility still
remained.

Individuals of Note:
Hudak - A teacher of Xenomythology,
i.e. he studies the legends of alien species. He came to Xantoras
because of its diverse alien population. But
was forced to leave when the government became hostile
to off-worlders. He was injured when the reactor
casings of the ship taking him off the surface ruptured.
He was treated by Dr. Phlox, becoming the first
Antaran to have met a Denobulan in six generations -
the time since their last war.
